Zakharova announced the intention of the Russian delegation to promote the country's interests at the UN.

The Russian delegation at the meeting of the UN General Assembly will promote Russian approaches to the settlement in Ukraine. This was stated on September 4 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum - 2025 (WEF-2025).

"Our Russian delegation will focus on solving the tasks of strengthening the foundations of a just multipolarity, restoring the central coordinating role of the United Nations as a pivotal mechanism for regulating world politics and solving global problems, and promoting Russian approaches to resolving the situation in Ukraine," Zakharova said.

She added that the Russian delegation would defend the supremacy of the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.
