The modern Russian T-90M Breakthrough tank has several advantages over older units such as the T-80. On September 4, the military personnel of the Center group of forces told Izvestia about this.

"The T-90M is much different from the T-80 in the same firing, thermal sight, sight capture. It also seems to me that the rangefinder works more precisely with the tank," said Maxim Manoilov, the gunner—operator of the second tank company.

In addition, in a more modern version of the equipment, the commander has a backup team, which also allows him to fire from a combat vehicle.

At the same time, retraining and mastering the control of the T-90M is not difficult for military personnel, since both tanks are manufactured using a similar system, said Artyom Vaganov, platoon commander of the second tank company.

"Yes, there are more buttons, AZR (automatic loaders. — Ed.) others. The sight is different, unlike the "eighty", the all-round view is larger. Visibility is much better," he added in an interview with correspondent Dmitry Astrakhan.

Tankers of the Center group of forces are already mastering new combat vehicles in their combat zone.

On August 20, the crew of the T-90M "Breakthrough" tank conducted night practice shooting at a training ground in the Southern Military District. The fire was directed at emerging and moving targets. The distance to the target was up to 2 km, high-explosive fragmentation and armor-piercing shells of 125 mm caliber were used.
