On the evening of September 3, a missing minute video was posted related to the death of American financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of trafficking minors and committed suicide in August 2019. The video can be viewed on the portal of The New York Post (NYP) newspaper.

"The newly released footage apparently shows how the camera data switches at midnight, which led to the merging of two fragments of footage. <...> Nothing happened in the previously missing minute recorded outside the prison block," the publication commented.

It is noted that this video contributed to debunking the myth of a political cover-up by the US Department of Justice of Epstein's death.

Earlier, on July 30, the United States learned that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Department of Justice have an allegedly missing minute from surveillance footage that was recorded on the night of Epstein's death in prison. It is clarified that the 11-hour recording, previously released this month, proves that on the night of August 10, 2019, no one came to the convict's cell — according to preliminary data, he committed suicide.

On July 19, US President Donald Trump asked the Department of Justice to release all available testimony from the jury in the Epstein case. However, later, on July 23, the Florida court rejected this request, in connection with which Trump expressed his dissatisfaction on July 28. The American president was annoyed by the mistakes made by the White House in this matter.
