- The first passenger unmanned boat has been tested in the waters of the Moskva River
On the eve of the Digital Transportation Forum, which will be held on October 1 in the Lomonosov cluster, the Digital Transport and Logistics Association, together with RUT, RANEPA and the Moscow Longevity project, presented a unique development — Russia's first small autonomous boat. A demonstration test drive took place on the Moskva River on Wednesday, September 3.
The domestic six-seater boat Volzhanka was used as a basis, equipping it with a remote and fully autonomous control system. The intelligent platform allows the boat to independently perform a wide range of tasks: to build maps of reservoirs, measure depth, monitor water quality and the condition of hydraulic structures, ensure order in the water area and even participate in search and rescue operations, writes Moscow 24.
In the future, vessels with this technology will be able to escort icebreakers and operate in "smart" automated ports, where all processes — from loading and unloading to repairs — will be carried out by machines without human intervention, the Moscow City News Agency reports.
Earlier in the day, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin launched Russia's first unmanned tram with passengers. It will run on route 10 — from Kulakova Street in Strogino to Shchukinskaya metro station, the website writes. kp.ru .
"In fact, in two years, the specialists were able to implement the project, conduct tests, and today we are launching an unmanned vehicle. Have a good trip!" said the Mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, at the opening ceremony. 360.ru .
It is planned to put three more driverless trams on the line by the end of the year. In addition, tests of unmanned metro trains will begin in Moscow in 2026.
