Macron announced the completion of the preparation of security guarantees for Ukraine
The security guarantee plan for Ukraine has been completed. This was stated on September 3 by French President Emmanuel Macron at a press conference with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.
"The contribution that was prepared, documented and confirmed this afternoon at the level of defense ministers in an extremely confidential manner allows me to say that this preparation work has been completed," he said.
The French President added that now the work done will be politically formalized and will provide a solid foundation for long-term peace in Ukraine.
"Tomorrow with us <...> there will be 35 participants of the "coalition of the willing". We will come to approve at the level of heads of state and government the work that has been carried out by our military leaders since the Washington summit in mid—August," Macron said.
European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen announced on August 31 that European countries are developing a specific plan for a possible military presence in Ukraine after the conflict ends, which will be fully supported by the capabilities of the United States.
On September 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled the unacceptability of ensuring Ukraine's security at the expense of the Russian Federation. According to Putin, Russia has always opposed Ukraine becoming a part of NATO. However, the right of the State to engage in its economic and business activities has never been questioned.
