More than 1.5 million people attended the Teatralny Boulevard Festival, which took place in Moscow from June 1 to August 31. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of the capital Natalia Sergunina, recalling that Muscovites and tourists were waiting for performances, including premieres, concerts, readings of plays, creative meetings and master classes.
"The large—scale event brought together three thousand Russian and foreign artists," Sergunina said. "The audience saw more than a thousand productions in different genres: from operettas and one—man shows to performances for children."
In total, the festival was held in 14 locations, where both famous and novice bands performed. The participants, in particular, were the Moscow Oleg Tabakov Theater, the Mossovet State Academic Theater, the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater, the Pushkin Moscow Drama Theater, the Zolotukhin Altai Youth Theater, the Anton Pavlovich Chekhov Sakhalin International Theater Center, and the Fedor Volkov Russian State Academic Drama Theater (Yaroslavl).
In addition to theatrical performances, various creative workshops were held for the guests. So, on Chistoprudny Boulevard, it was possible to learn the basics of stage speech and acting techniques, and vocal and musical instrument classes were organized on Tsvetnoy Boulevard.
It was decided to extend the work of one of the locations — in the Presnensky district — by the City Day, Sergunina said. A special project "Theater Boulevard. Afterword".
The festival has become a part of the capital's large—scale warm season event, Summer in Moscow. Educational and sports events, concerts and film screenings are held at hundreds of venues.
