US President Donald Trump said that he was not invited to the military parade on September 3 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and victory over militaristic Japan in Beijing, and called the event an unsuitable place for himself. The American leader announced this on September 3.

"I never even thought about it until this moment. I never thought that I would be invited," Trump replied to a journalist's question during the broadcast, which was conducted on the White House YouTube channel.

According to the American leader, such an event would be an unsuitable place for him. At the same time, he said that he watched the military parade and called the solemn event "impressive."

A military parade in Beijing took place earlier in the day. At the end of the celebration, 80,000 balloons and doves were released into the sky on Tiananmen Square in the city center, and the participants of the ceremony synchronously waved the national flags of the People's Republic of China.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, said that the parade was brilliant. The Russian leader stressed that the celebrations directly concern the Russian Federation, China and the DPRK, as these countries have made joint efforts in the common fight against Nazism, fascism and militarism.
