The Ministry of Finance announced an increase in the volume of NWF to 13.14 trillion rubles.

The Russian Ministry of Finance has published a report showing an increase in the volume of the National Welfare Fund (NWF). The report was published on September 3 on the website of the Ministry of Finance.

"As of September 1, 2025, the National welfare Fund amounted to 13,142,340.5 million rubles, or 5.9% of GDP projected for 2025, <...> which is equivalent to $163,601.1 million," the report says.

It is reported that the volume of liquid assets of the NWF amounted to almost 4 trillion rubles. The total estimated income from the placement of funds in foreign currency accounts with the Bank of Russia amounted to $63 million (5.1 trillion rubles), and the total income from the placement of funds in authorized financial assets amounted to 5.5 trillion rubles.

Experts expect a figure of 5-5.5 trillion rubles.

On August 27, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov predicted the growth of the Russian economy. He specified that the growth rate will be at least 1.5%. According to him, this year there are tough conditions for monetary policy. In addition, the minister noted that a balanced budget for 2026-2028 would be the basis for the Central Bank of the Russian Federation to mitigate the PREP.
