The Department of Social Development pointed to the success of the state support program "Hectare"

To date, 151 thousand people have received land plots under the "Hectare" program. This was announced on September 3 by Grigory Smolyak, Director of the Department of the Russian Ministry for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.

"We have 151 thousand recipients, actually. Citizens who received a hectare, 35 thousand. we have already been granted ownership or lease," he said during the session "The Far Eastern Hectare: from Farming to Creative Industries" within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum - 2025 (WEF-2025).

Daria Kislitsina, Director of the Department of Regional Programs at the Expert Institute for Social Research (EISR), in turn, drew attention to the fact that the program was launched nine years ago. During this time, according to her, there has been a transformation of public consciousness, perception and demand among residents of the macroregion.

Smolyak called the program a success. He stressed that since the beginning of 2016, the program has been implemented in nine regions of the Russian Federation, including Buryatia, the Trans-Baikal Territory, and the Arctic region. The program is currently being expanded to the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO).

The Director of the department stressed that the program is in demand and continues to be implemented further. He specified that 50% of the recipients of land plots are individual housing construction. Half of the recipients have built houses, about a third are engaged in agriculture, and about a fifth are engaged in business and tourism, the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic said.

Earlier, on August 17, State Duma Deputy Sergei Kolunov announced the introduction of new grounds for the seizure of orphan land plots in Russia from September 1. According to him, one of the reasons will be the lack of a built or registered facility for up to five years for individual housing construction.
