Murashko reported a halving of child mortality in Russia in 10 years
In the Russian Federation, child mortality has more than doubled over the past 10 years. This was announced on September 3 by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko.
According to Murashko, an integrated approach to maternal and child health made it possible to reduce the infant mortality rate to 3.6 ppm in the first half of 2025, which is a historical minimum.
"Child mortality has more than doubled over the past 10 years," the minister added in his greeting to the participants of the VI Congress of Pediatricians of the Moscow Region "Pediatrics as an Art," as quoted by TASS.
Earlier, on July 14, during a meeting on social issues with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Murashko spoke about a decrease in child mortality by more than 16% over the past five years. According to him, significant results have also been achieved in national programs related to the health of children and adolescents. In addition, he noted that a material and technical base is being created in the country, in particular, 21 new children's hospitals have been built, polyclinics have been retrofitted, and new technologies are being introduced.
