VTB noted the growth of SME clients' funds since the beginning of the year
Entrepreneurs maintain a stable demand for deposit products. This was announced at the WEF-2025 by Ruslan Eremenko, a member of the VTB Board.
Since the beginning of 2025, VTB has increased its portfolio of attracted funds from medium and small business customers by 20% to RUB 5 trillion. Term deposits are most in demand among entrepreneurs, the bank noted. Their share reaches 70% of the portfolio, or 3.7 trillion rubles, and their volume in the portfolio of liabilities has increased by 379 billion rubles since the beginning of the year. During this period, VTB clients conducted more than 5 million transactions to deposit funds.
"Entrepreneurs appreciate the opportunity to flexibly and promptly manage their finances, receiving income from temporarily available funds," said Yeremenko. He noted that in the current economic conditions, it is important for businesses to maintain a balance between liquidity and profitability, stressing that VTB's instruments effectively fulfill this task.
Earlier, Yeremenko said that in five years VTB had provided guarantees and letters of credit for more than 3 trillion rubles to medium and small businesses. The main guarantees were provided to enterprises in the transport and infrastructure industries (28%), trade (18%), mechanical engineering and metalworking (13%), as well as housing and commercial construction (12%).
