A Moscow resident has been charged with attempting to commit a terrorist attack in the capital. This was reported on September 3 in the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the city.
"Evseev, <...> having the intention to illegally alter firearms and their main parts at a time not precisely determined by the investigation, under circumstances not precisely determined by the investigation, <...> illegally altered firearms and their main parts," the case file says.
It is clarified that in June last year, a criminal case was opened against the suspect under Article 116 of the Criminal Code ("Beatings") and Part 1 of Article 223 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal manufacture of weapons"). Then he was arrested for almost two months.
According to the court's materials, this year the man was charged with crimes under art. 223 ("Illegal manufacture of weapons"), art. 222 ("Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, transfer or carrying of weapons, main parts of firearms, ammunition"), art. 116 ("Beatings"), Part 1 of Article 30 ("Preparation for a crime and attempted crime") of Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act").
It is noted that the state prosecutor requested that Evseev be sentenced to 14 years in prison. He partially admitted his guilt.
The day before, in the Trans-Baikal Territory, employees of the regional Federal Security Service (FSB) detained a local resident for calling for terrorist acts. It is specified that the 33-year-old man used the Internet to call for terrorist acts on the territory of Russia and collected personal data of Russian servicemen and colleagues who supported the special operation, and passed this information to a representative of the Ukrainian special services. Criminal cases have been initiated under articles on public calls for terrorist activities (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and high treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
