FP reported on the benefits of cooperation between the countries of the global South and Russia

It is beneficial for the states of the global South to cooperate with Russia, despite sanctions and pressure from the West. This was reported on September 1 by Foreign Policy magazine (FP).

"Preserving Russia's viability as a third great power is considered desirable by most states of the global South. When three great powers operate, the situation becomes a little easier for them. <...> In general, multipolarity provides a greater strategic space for those who are not members of the club of great powers," the magazine noted.

It is specified that Russia is a major power that is developing in the defense and energy sectors and exports its goods to the countries of the global South. It is emphasized that due to the geographical remoteness of the Russian Federation from the countries of the global South, the geopolitical danger of Russia is significantly reduced.

At the same time, the magazine emphasizes that Moscow is not isolated from the rest of the world.

Earlier, on September 1, Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of Southeastern Norway, said that a joint photo of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit indicates the onset of multipolarity in the world.

On the same day, Xi Jinping, at the SCO Plus meeting in Tianjin, China, put forward the global governance initiative, in which China is ready to create with all countries "a more just, rational system of global governance, to go hand in hand to the community of the common destiny of mankind." Vladimir Putin supported the initiative and noted its relevance in the context of the desire of individual countries to dictate in international affairs.
