- Bulgaria refused to investigate the incident with the GPS shutdown of the von der Leyen plane
The Bulgarian authorities see no point in investigating the incident with the GPS signal being turned off on board the plane carrying the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen. This was announced on September 2 by Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov.
"When there is interference in the GPS signal, we use instrumental navigation. <...> There is no point in conducting an investigation, since these interferences are neither hybrid nor cyber threats," Darik quotes him as saying.
