Beijing is undergoing full-scale preparations for a solemn parade in honor of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the surrender of Japan. The corresponding footage is published by Izvestia on September 2.

"Getting to the parade is a whole quest. First, they check the equipment for a long time, then you take a bus through an empty city for quite a long time, and now you need to get in this long queue," correspondent Igor Baldin said.

He added that at the same time, people "keep arriving and arriving" at the square.

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a visit to China, expressed confidence that the parade in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory over Japan and the end of World War II would be excellent, even despite the rain. The Russian leader also stressed the historical partnership between the two countries and the military brotherhood during the Second World War.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
