Poland has asked the United States to invite it to the G20
Poland has asked the United States to grant it an invitation to the G20 in 2026. This was announced on September 2 by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski at a press conference.
"Due to the fact that Poland has joined the club of trillion—dollar economies, I have asked the United States, as chairman of the G20 in 2026, to invite us to join its ranks," TVP Info quoted him as saying.
The Foreign Minister added that he was convinced that Polish President Karol Nawrocki would support him in this decision tomorrow at the White House at a meeting with American leader Donald Trump.
Earlier, on July 29, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk assessed the damage to Poland from the EU-US trade agreement. According to him, the proposed US duties on European goods are twice as low as those announced by American leader Donald Trump in April, but according to preliminary estimates, Poland could lose about $2.2 billion.
