Moscow authorities are accelerating the transition to a "smart city" by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain into key management areas, from healthcare to urban planning. According to Dmitry Ontoev, adviser to the head of the Moscow Department of Information Technology, these technologies are no longer experiments, but real tools for solving urban problems and improving the lives of residents.

At the discussion that took place on August 21 in the territory of technological progress "Cloud Cities", Ontoev noted that the capital annually implements about 300 digital projects, and the share of those that use AI or blockchain is constantly growing.

"Blockchain and AI are not just trends, but tools for solving specific tasks," he stressed.

One of the most striking examples of the use of blockchain is remote electronic voting: the technology guarantees the immutability and security of data, strengthening the trust of voters. Blockchain is also used in the organization of "Weekend Fairs": farmers save applications for participation in the blockchain registry, which simplifies interaction with organizers and reduces the risk of information loss.

According to Ontoev, AI has already been involved in about 100 projects. The most noticeable effects are in healthcare: first, AI algorithms automate the processing of medical documentation, reducing paperwork time in clinics and hospitals by 3-5 times. In addition, AI systems analyze medical data (medical histories, ultrasound/CT results), identifying hidden patterns and helping doctors make an accurate diagnosis earlier.

"We want residents not to notice the technology, but to feel its benefits," Dmitry Ontoev summed up.

According to him, Moscow is striving to become a city where AI and blockchain serve not to demonstrate progress, but for real convenience.: It's faster to get medical help, safer to vote, easier to organize a fair. This approach is already bearing fruit: Moscow is consolidating its status as one of the most technologically advanced megacities in the world, where innovation is aimed at the benefit of every resident. According to experts, the next steps will be the expansion of AI in transport (traffic optimization) and blockchain in the management of public infrastructure.

It is noted that the number of projects with AI and blockchain will only grow — and they will all focus on one goal: to make Moscow even more comfortable and efficient for people.

Earlier that day, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that the L.I. Sverzhevsky Research Clinical Institute of Otorhinolaryngology had developed an AI system that helps doctors diagnose ear and laryngeal diseases more accurately and faster.
