Georgian actress and singer Manana Menabde has died.
Famous Georgian singer and actress Manana Menabde died at the age of 76 as a result of a long illness. This was reported by Sputnik Georgia on September 2.
"My black pearl was defeated in an unequal battle, but it was the most worthy fight to the death that I have ever seen. Many thanks to everyone who has been with us these five months and fought with us for Manana's life," said Menabde's niece, actress Gano Melitauri.
Manana Menabde was born in 1948 in Tbilisi. She graduated from the directing department of the Shota Rustaveli Theater Institute. Then she moved to Moscow and graduated from GITIS with a degree in stage director.
Menabde was also interested in photography. In 2012, Maria Golovanivskaya published the book "Declarations of Love in Russian", which was illustrated with photographs by Manana Menabde.
In addition, Manana Menabde was engaged in painting, participated in art exhibitions and auctions. She wrote music for films, recorded CDs with various musicians in various styles — from bard songs to "Georgian jazz" and electronic music.
