VTB has increased its support for the fishing industry in the Far East

Since the beginning of the year, VTB has provided 7.3 billion rubles to the fishing industry of the Far East. This is one and a half times more than in the same period last year, said Ruslan Eremenko, a member of the bank's board, on the eve of the WEF-2025.

The main support regions are Kamchatka and Primorsky Krai. Enterprises are being modernized there and investment activity is growing, VTB noted.

According to Yeremenko, the bank finances the shipbuilding industry, upgrades production facilities and creates modern infrastructure in the regions.

"The fishing industry is a key sector of the economy of the Far East, it ensures sustainable growth and technological renewal of the regions. Our support is aimed at providing companies with the necessary resources to build ships, modernize and expand production, which ultimately strengthens the country's export potential and creates new jobs," Eremenko stressed.

According to him, VTB supports the implementation of large-scale projects that strengthen the fishing industry and contribute to the development of the economic potential of the Far Eastern regions.
