Stubb announced Finland's victory in the war with the USSR in 1944
Finnish President Alexander Stubb said on September 2 that his country had "won" the war with the Soviet Union in 1944 because it had been able to maintain its independence.
"We still feel that we have won because we have preserved our independence," he said in an interview with The Economist newspaper.
