The big Telegram update, released on August 31, brought several significant changes that affected both the functionality and the appearance of the application.
Adding music to your Telegram profile
One of the key updates is the ability to add music to your profile. Now users can add tracks from any chat to their profile — they will be displayed under the photo. If several tracks are added, Telegram will automatically create a playlist that can also be edited.
To add a song to your profile, follow these simple steps::
- Turn on a track and then open it in a media player;
- Click the "Add to profile" button.
The added music will be displayed in the playlist on the account page, and the user can change the order of the songs at any time.
A mini-application for creating stickers in Telegram
In the latest update, Telegram also offers new sticker management tools. The built-in @Stickers mini-application allows you to create your own sticker packs and emojis, as well as edit your own sets through the bot and view their usage statistics.
Each user can create unique sets of stickers and share them on the open Telegram platform.
New Telegram Profile design for Android
Telegram has also updated the appearance of the profile on Android. The new design includes scrolling animations that were previously only available on iOS.

In addition, Telegram has a new feature that allows the user to select the tab that will be displayed first when opening the profile by default. This allows you to focus on saved stories or gift collections.
To set up the default tab, you need to:

Gifts in Telegram
Most of the innovations relate to gifts in Telegram. With the latest update, owners of collectible gifts Plush Pepe, Precious Peach, Durov's Cap and Heart Locket have access to new dynamic wallpapers for personal chats. One gift gives you the opportunity to set a theme for one chat.
In addition, users can now send stars to help improve another person's gift to a collectible one. This feature allows you to cover the cost of improving a gift if its owner does not have enough stars, or if he did not know that the gift could be improved. If the user decides to improve their gift in the future, it will be free for them.
There is also a new "Not improved" filter that helps you find items that can be collectible. Now users can improve the quality of several gifts in a row by using the "Improve next" button.
After the update, the Telegram gifts have a "Value" characteristic, which allows you to find out their approximate value when resold on the marketplace. More detailed statistics also reflect the average cost of other gifts from the same collection.
Blocking calls in Telegram
Facebook Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus have been recognized as an extremist organization in the Russian Federation, and their activities are prohibited in the territory of the Russian Federation. In August, Roskomnadzor announced partial restrictions on calls in the Telegram and WhatsApp messengers (Meta Platforms Corporation, which owns Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus). These measures were taken in connection with the use of messenger data for criminal activities, including deception, extortion and participation in illegal activities. As a result, the level of fraud in messengers has dropped by 70%.
As an alternative to foreign platforms, Russians can use the national messenger MAX, which also has increased protection against fraud.
