The 38th Moscow International Book Fair (MIFF) will be held from September 3-7, 2025 at VDNH in Pavilion 57. The Moscow International Children's Book Fair will be held for the third time as part of the Moscow International Book Fair.
More than 300 publishers and book distributors from various regions of Russia, as well as a number of other countries will take part in the fair: Belarus, Iran, China, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and North Korea. The Moscow Department of Mass Media and Advertising will participate in the 38th Moscow International Book Fair, presenting a media exhibition of the Moscow Government Publishing Program "Moscow Book".
The Republic of India will be the guest of honor at the 2025 World Cup. Within the framework of the program, more than 50 thematic events dedicated to modern technologies, artificial intelligence, as well as the cultural diversity of India, such as yoga, Ayurveda, and dance, will be held at the Indian stand. More than 70 speakers from India and Russia will take part in the events. More than 50 Indian publishers will present their books at the stand, totaling more than 2,500 books in the official languages of India. Books translated into Russian will also be presented. The events of the guest of honor will be held under the general motto — "Read and explore India!". In addition, the Indian stand will feature an interactive center, a meditation hall and other themed areas dedicated to Indian art, culture, literature, cinema, cuisine and tourism.
The Guest of Honor program at the Moscow International Book Fair was prepared with the support of the National Book Foundation of India, the Ministry of Education of India, the Government of India, as well as the Indian Embassy in Moscow, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (New Delhi), the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Center (Moscow), the Sahitya Academy and Indian publishers. The National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad became a partner in the design of the stand.
Viewers will also be able to join the MMC in an online format. VKontakte is the official social network and a partner of the MMK marathon broadcasts: on the VK Video channel of the event, performances and events from the venue will be broadcast. Famous Russian contemporary writers and poets, media experts, actors, and representatives of literary museums will take part in the exclusive online lecture from VK.
Speakers at the fair will include: Lia Arden, Pavel Basinsky, Evgeny Vodolazkin, Daria Dontsova, Asya Lavrinovich, Alexandra Marinina, Zakhar Prilepin, Anna Revyakina, Tatiana Chernihiv, Dean and Professor of the Faculty of Economics of Lomonosov Moscow State University Alexander Auzan, journalist and presenter Vadim Vernik, journalist and writer Eva Merkacheva and many others. On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of Sergei Yesenin's birth, a presentation of the collection of selected works "Yesenin Forever" will take place on the main stage, and the actors of the Moscow Provincial Theater will read his selected poems.
The Moscow Department of Mass Media and Advertising will participate in the 38th Moscow International Book Fair, presenting a media exhibition of the Moscow Government Publishing Program "Moscow Book".
The Department of Media and Advertising will hold a number of cultural events for visitors and participants of the fair. Their goal will be to popularize and promote reading, as well as preserve and strengthen cultural and historical memory among the reading population, including the younger generation.Presentations of publishing and information projects dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 will also be held: "Chronicle of Victory. 1418 days and nights", "Victory Day Parade 1945. Close to my heart", "The path of heroism. Moscow–Minsk", "Awards of the War", "Moscow is a hero city", "Roads of the Great Victory", "Victory Military Corps", etc. A separate block of events will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of Defender of the Fatherland in Russia.
The guests of the Moscow Military Academy will receive a presentation of a book about artifacts of modern military history — about the chevrons of its military. The book "The History of its Chevrons" contains more than a thousand cataloged chevrons (personal, division chevrons, humorous, professional, religious, and many others), some of which the authors will tell special stories about.
More than 20 professional events will be held within the framework of the MMCJ-2025 business program with the participation of leading experts of the Russian book market — publishers, book distributors, editors, library staff, relevant ministries and departments, as well as representatives of public organizations.
Two unique interactive events are also waiting for the guests of the fair.: "Immortal Voices of Literature", "Open the window to literature" – a game dedicated to the jubilee writers of 2025, and the literary quiz "What (wrote)? Where (wrote it)? When did you (write)?" is an online quiz based on the work of jubilee writers.
A variety of events for children and parents will be held at the MMDC site: presentations, lectures, contests, master classes, discussions about literature for teenagers, meetings with publishers, psychologists, and educators. The fair will be attended by: Dmitry Yemets, Ekaterina Ishimtseva, Victoria Lederman, Igor Nosov, Alexander Tsypkin, Igor Shidlovsky, Yulia Shkolnik and many others.
