Two large-scale programs dedicated to Russian opera will be presented by the Cultural City Festival, organized by the Moscow Department of Culture as part of the Territory of the Future forum. Moscow 2030". Zaryadye's guests will hear works by Pushkin and Tchaikovsky, scenes from nine classical operas, and will also see new forms of musical theater combining literature, music, and the dramatic word.

On September 5, at 20:00, the Zaryadye audience will embark on an amazing journey: the unique production of Eugene Onegin will take them back to Pushkin's time. This is a new musical and dramatic interpretation of the masterpiece by Alexander Pushkin and Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The best forces of the country will unite for one evening: soloists of the Bolshoi Theater and the theater named after K.S. Stanislavsky and V.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko, ballet dancers of the Bolshoi Theater and the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra.

This evening, the famous work will receive a new stage incarnation: arias will be replaced by artistic readings, followed by symphonic works and ballet dancers. The format, which combines opera, ballet and drama theater, becomes a unique tool for introducing viewers to classical literature and music.

Ilya Kutyukhin (tenor), a graduate of the Youth Opera Program of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, will perform the role of Onegin, and Eleonora Makarova (soprano), a soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich—Danchenko Theater, will play the role of Tatiana. Lensky will be represented by tenor Valery Makarov, soloist of the Bolshoi Theater and the Novaya Opera Theater. Olga Larina and Prince Gremin will be performed by soloists of the Bolshoi Theater — mezzo-soprano Ulyana Biryukova and bass Alexander Markeev, dramatic reciters Alexander Tolmachev, Alexander Ostapenko, Valeria Dorokhova, Alexander Vladimirtsev, Yana Barbasheva and Polina Fedorova are also involved in the project. The creators of the project are: laureate of international competitions, conductor Yuri Demidovich, producer — opera singer Ksenia Dezhneva, director of photography Larisa Kaidalova. The performance combines music, word and movement in a single artistic space, and the accompanying author's video series gives the production a modern visual dimension.

On September 6, at 20:00, the festival will continue with the gala evening "Opera for All". The orchestra of the Novaya Opera Theater conducted by Andrei Lebedev, winner of the Golden Mask, will perform fragments from nine opera masterpieces, scenes from works by Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Glinka, Borodin and Mussorgsky. The program includes scenes from Russian operas: "Khovanshchina", "Prince Igor", "Eugene Onegin", "The Queen of Spades", "War and Peace", "Boris Godunov", "Ruslan and Lyudmila", "The Snow Maiden", "The Tsar's Bride".

The concert will be performed by soloists and the choir of the Novaya Opera Theater, accompanied by a symphony orchestra conducted by Andrei Lebedev, winner of the Golden Mask National Theater Award. The artistic word will be presented by Honored Artist of Russia Irina Apeksimova, director of the Taganka Theater. The director of the production is Alexei Frandetti.

Both programs of the Cultural City Festival in Zaryadye demonstrate how classical art can preserve the depth of tradition and at the same time seek new forms. The forum "Territory of the future. Moscow 2030" focuses on the educational mission: cultural projects become not only a scenic event, but also a tool for dialogue about the future of the city. Through culture, Moscow speaks to residents about the values that unite generations, and how art can open up space for the future.

Zaryadye Park, being the flagship venue of the forum, provides a unique architectural environment for cultural experiment. The amphitheater with a panoramic view of the Kremlin becomes an ideal space for reflection on the connection between the past and the future of the Russian capital.
