Sobyanin spoke about the AI development of Moscow doctors
The L.I. Sverzhevsky Scientific Research Clinical Institute of Otorhinolaryngology has developed an AI system that helps doctors diagnose ear and laryngeal diseases more accurately and faster. This was announced by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in his channel in the IACH.
The new system analyzes endoscopic images and identifies visual signs of normality or pathology. Artificial intelligence recognizes the forms of external and acute otitis media, chronic otitis media and laryngeal neoplasms, Sobyanin noted. The service is already operating in pilot mode on the basis of the L.I. Sverzhevsky Medical Center, Recreation Center No. 1 and KDC No. 4.
"At the same time, AI acts only as a doctor's assistant — the final decision is always up to the specialist," stressed the mayor of Moscow. The system will continue to be improved, increasing the accuracy of the results. There are also plans to train AI to diagnose diseases of the nasal cavity.
Automation of diagnostic processes will improve the efficiency of patient routing, Sobyanin noted. The data obtained will be used to improve the skills of specialists.
Earlier, Sobyanin said that thanks to the creation of a single network of several hospitals in Moscow, it was possible to reduce stroke mortality by 15%. The number of saved heart attack patients has also more than doubled in the capital.
