More than 1 thousand people died in Sudan due to a landslide
More than 1 thousand people became victims of a landslide that descended in western Sudan. This was reported on September 2 by the Reuters news agency.
"At least 1,000 people died in a landslide that destroyed a village in the Marra Mountains in western Sudan, leaving only one person alive," the publication says.
It is noted that the landslide occurred on August 31 after several days of heavy rains.
Earlier, on August 5, four people died and more than 100 were missing due to a massive mudslide near the village of Dharali in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. In some places, the stream reached the roofs of buildings.
On May 30, at least 13 people were killed and about 10 injured in a landslide in a limestone quarry in Indonesia. A similar incident occurred earlier in the quarry in February of this year.
