The Khabarovsk Regional Court decided to pay 150 thousand rubles to a primary school teacher, whose salary turned out to be significantly lower than required by law. The Teacher trade union, based on this precedent, intends to continue litigation with the management of schools where teachers are underpaid, Mikhail Kurbanov, a member of the regional branch of the Teacher trade union, told Izvestia.

"We plan to seek salary recalculations for other teachers, first for our union members. For now, we are collecting all the necessary documents from teachers, we will attach to them a reasoned court decision, a resolution of the Constitutional Court and we will achieve recalculations," Kurbanov said.

We are talking about the case of Ekaterina Agoshina, a primary school teacher at the Khabarovsk Lyceum Zvezdny. Since 2022, she has received a salary in the structure of which the salary was about 50% of the federal minimum wage, although by law, the work of a teacher at one rate must at least meet the minimum wage. The court decided to pay her compensation from November 2023 to February 2025, which amounted to about 150 thousand rubles. Ekaterina Igoshina's side will continue to appeal this decision, seeking full compensation.
