Beached whale rescued in Belgium
In the Belgian resort town of Knokke-Heist, experts rescued a minke whale stranded on a beach. This was reported on September 1 by VRTnws.
"The little tabby was successfully returned to the sea through the channel. Around 16:00 (17:00 Moscow time. The animal entered the water for the first time, and then washed ashore several times," the publication says.
It is noted that during the work, rescuers dug a kind of pool for the whale, and also covered it with a towel and poured water over it to help survive the time during which the animal remained stranded on the beach.
It is expected that as a result of the operation, the whale was able to reach the open sea. Currently, no additional actions are required from the rescue services.
Earlier, on July 26, in Ecuador, a boat with tourists sank due to a whale encounter. As a result of the incident, all passengers fell into the water. It is specified that no one was injured.
On February 13, a humpback whale swallowed and spat out a man kayaking through the Strait of Magellan. According to the victim, he felt a strong blow on his back, which knocked him out of the inflatable kayak.
