North Korean leader Kim Jong-un traveled to the Chinese capital on a special train. This was reported on September 1 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA)..

"During his visit to Beijing, the head of state will be accompanied by leading party and government officials, including North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Song—hee," the publication says.

It is noted that the Korean leader will take part in events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the resistance of the Korean people to the Japanese invaders.
