Trump's adviser criticized India's cooperation with Russia and China
US President Donald Trump's adviser on trade and economic affairs, Peter Navarro, was outraged by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cooperation with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Navarro said this in an interview with Fox News on September 1.
"Modi is an outstanding leader. I don't understand why he's hanging out with Putin and Xi Jinping when his country is the largest democracy in the world," the politician said.
Navarro also noted that Indian elites allegedly benefit from cooperation with Russia, while ordinary citizens of the country, according to him, face economic difficulties because of this.
Modi called the meeting with Putin on the sidelines of the SCO summit on September 1 excellent. According to him, the parties discussed ways to deepen cooperation between Russia and India in all areas, including trade, fertilizers, space, security and culture.
Also during the meeting with the Russian leader, Modi stressed the importance of close cooperation between Russia and India to ensure global stability and prosperity.
