Production of the Tenet T8 crossover has started in Russia
The AGR Holding plant (formerly Volkswagen) has started production of the Tenet T8 crossover. This is the third model of the Russian brand that has entered the assembly line of the Kaluga plant, the company said in a statement received by Izvestia on September 1.
For the production of the Tenet T8, additional assembly lines were adjusted, equipment was adapted to the design features of the model, and quality control systems were set up. The production goes through a full cycle with welding and painting of bodies.
The Tenet T8 is a seven—seat all-wheel drive crossover. Izvestia previously found out that the model will enter the Russian market in two trim levels. The three-row T8 will be offered with an alternative two-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 197 hp (375 Nm) paired with a seven-speed "robot". Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 8.4 seconds, with a top speed of 210 km/h.
Prior to that, in August, AGR Holding launched the production of T4 and T7 crossovers. All models are based on Chery. The Tenet brand was created specifically for the Russian market.
Earlier that day, it was reported that sales of a special version of the Jaecoo J7 crossover in a new Limited Edition special version had started in Russia. The special version features a redesigned exterior and a different engine.
