Trump announced India's proposal to reduce duties on goods from the United States to almost zero

On September 1, US President Donald Trump announced that India had offered to reduce its duties on American goods to almost zero.

"The relationship is still completely one-sided, and it has been like this for many decades. The reason is that India has so far charged us such high duties, the highest among all countries, that our companies cannot sell to India. <...> Now they have offered to reduce their duties to zero," he wrote on his page on the Truth Social network.

According to the American leader, it is too late to reduce the half-rate, because the representatives of India should have done this many years ago.
