Yanukovych: Europe showed arrogance in the issue of Ukraine's rapprochement with the EU

Former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych pointed to the arrogant behavior of the European Union (EU) in negotiations on rapprochement with the union.

"Indeed, I purposefully worked to bring Ukraine closer to the European Union, and ultimately set the task of Ukraine's accession to the European Union. <...> To put it bluntly, they showed arrogance," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying on September 1.

Yanukovych noted that the European Union had behaved incorrectly during the negotiations. He did not show understanding to the complicated economic situation that had developed in Ukraine.
