The publication writes that Newsom actively criticizes US President Donald Trump and enjoys growing popularity among Democratic voters. At the same time, Ocasio-Cortez can attract young progressive supporters.

Harris, despite her experience, remains an ambiguous figure, and her prospects will largely depend on the perception of her previous unsuccessful campaign. Other candidates, such as Moore and Pritzker, are trying to take more moderate positions, but are facing difficulties.

Whitmer, the successfully re-elected governor of the key state of Michigan, is considered by many insiders, but the party may not want to nominate a woman again after the failures of Clinton and Harris. Buttigieg and Murphy are also of interest, but do not yet have sufficient national fame.

The Axios portal reported on July 7 that the main contenders for the post of US presidential candidate from the Republican Party for 2028 are already holding meetings with sponsors and voters in individual states in order to strengthen their political positions.
