Iran opens a new competition for creators of children's content

On September 1, Knowledge Day, the Internet Development Institute began accepting applications for a children's content contest. This is a new competition in the line of IRI. Projects can be submitted by September 30, 2025 (before 18:00 Moscow time) in two directions.: "Video content" and "Software products". Legal entities or individuals registered as an individual entrepreneur (IE) can participate in the competition.

"For many years, projects for children and adolescents have been deprived of regular and consistent financial participation from the state. Since 2022, Iran has been supporting projects for preschool and school-age viewers.: the TV series "Curious Varvara" and "Non-childish cinema", the show "Science Fiction", the animated series "Pushkin and ... Mikhailovskoye", "Superheroes.<url>", "Heroes of the Arctic" and many others. Today, we see a sharp increase in demand from children and parents for high-quality Russian children's content, both entertaining and educational. Realizing the need to stimulate the industry to produce children's animation and art projects, as well as games, we are launching a separate competition," said Alexey Goreslavsky, Director General of the IRI.

In the Video Content area, game and animation projects consisting of at least two pieces of content are accepted. The projects should be posted in online cinemas.

The Software Products section accepts games and/or add-ons for mobile devices. A mobile version is required, and games can additionally be adapted for placement and use on PC platforms and websites.

Projects supported by Iran should be released and collect KPIs no later than October 29, 2027.

At the competition, IRI will consider projects within the framework of new topics approved by the IRI Supervisory Board specifically for this competition: "It's better to work in a team than alone", "Useful skills for a small person", "Dangerous games", "Native country", "Family and family values - first the family, then the Homeland", "Heroes of our days and reasons for pride", "Opportunities for self-realization and development in Russia", "Be yourself", "Image of the future".

The results will be announced no later than March 20, 2026. The preliminary list of winners based on the results of the face-to-face defense will be determined by the IRI Production Council, and the results of the competition will be approved by the Supervisory Board.
