The Moscow Data Center and Yandex have launched a joint project, thanks to which traffic lights operating at all central intersections of the capital are displayed in Maps and Navigator. This was stated by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"The joint work of data centers with navigation systems makes driving in the capital more comfortable. Transmitting data about traffic lights at smart intersections to yandex.Navigator will help motorists know in advance which signal is on at the nearest intersection and how much time is left before it changes. On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, we continue to improve road safety," Maxim Liksutov said.

As explained in the press service of the data center, to see the traffic lights, it is enough to plot a route in the navigator and start driving. Yandex services show the color of the nearest traffic light along the route, and also tell you how much time is left before the signal changes, if the traffic light has a timer. This helps drivers to reduce their speed more smoothly before a red light and start driving in a timely manner when the traffic light is green, according to the data center.
