- Likhachev noted that Turkey and the Russian Federation have overcome the sanctions problems in the Akkuyu NPP project
Turkey and Russia have overcome the sanctions problems in the Akkuyu nuclear power plant project. This was announced to journalists on September 1 by Alexey Likhachev, CEO of the Rosatom State Corporation.
"Thanks, first and foremost, to the personal attention and support of our presidents, both Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and Mr. [Recep Tayyip] According to Erdogan, the project is moving forward and has not stood up for a minute, either during the difficult years of the pandemic or in the last three years of this sanctions war," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Likhachev noted that all problems that arise in the future will be solved as effectively as those caused by sanctions. In addition, he stressed that the opponents "beat" on logistics, financing and equipment supplies, but all issues were resolved.
The CEO of Rosatom suggested encountering difficulties in the future, but convinced that the subsequent issues would also be resolved.
He also shared that Russia had offered India the localization of the construction of floating nuclear power plants. According to him, this will be done taking into account the shipbuilding competencies available in India.
Earlier, on July 8, Anton Dedusenko, CEO of Rusatom Energy International JSC, which is building the power plant, named the capacity of the first Akkuyu power unit. According to him, after the launch, it will be able to provide electricity to from 3 to 4 million people. Dedusenko specified that the power unit will generate more than 8.7 billion kWh of electricity per year.
