Novorossiysk became the leader of the rating among Russian destinations with the largest increase in bookings compared to the same period last year. Experts from the national tour operator Alean have recorded an increase in interest in domestic tourism in the summer season, highlighting 10 destinations across the country. Izvestia got acquainted with the results of the study on September 2.

So, the resorts of the Azov coast of the Krasnodar Territory are in second place with an indicator of 37%, and the Crimea took the third place, showing an increase of 32%.

"Dagestan and Arkhyz also entered the top five, where the number of bookings increased by 28% and 27%, respectively. Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Suzdal, Murmansk Region and the Far East complete the list. The demand growth was facilitated by the redistribution of tourist flows from traditional resorts, the expansion of the number of rooms, the development of infrastructure and event tourism, as well as the desire of Russians to open new locations," the analysts noted.

Novorossiysk, according to the study, showed a record 40% due to transport accessibility, improved infrastructure and the appearance of new high-class hotels. Tourists are now increasingly planning a full-fledged week-long vacation in this city, combining beach holidays with excursions to wineries. The popularity of the resorts of the Azov Sea, such as Yeisk and Temryuk districts, increased by 37% due to the shift of part of the flow from the Black Sea coast, as well as due to affordable prices, which are 15-20% lower here.

Crimea has become an alternative for tourists looking for a replacement for Anapa, showing an increase of 32%. The western coast of the peninsula and Feodosia turned out to be particularly in demand, attracting families with children with sandy beaches and all-inclusive hotels. Dagestan attracted guests with the opportunity to combine seaside holidays in the Caspian Sea with excursions to the mountains, and Arkhyz has become a popular destination for residents of the southern regions due to its picturesque views and comfortable weather.

Nizhny Novgorod, which showed an increase of 12%, remains in demand among residents of central Russia thanks to new hotels and a rich event program. Yaroslavl and Suzdal, which were included in the list with an increase of 10% each, attracted tourists with gastronomic festivals. Interest in the Murmansk Region increased by 9% due to the popularity of summer tours, including whale watching and boat trips. The Far East, despite the high prices, showed an increase of 8%, consolidating its status as a destination for beach, gastronomic and sightseeing holidays.

On May 4, Elena Prokhorova, head of the Sber Eaptek pharmacy, told Izvestia how many Russians are susceptible to jet lag. When changing time zones, the body does not have time to adapt to the new time, the biological clock gets lost, so symptoms such as malaise, drowsiness or lack of sleep, headaches of various etiologies, and fatigue may appear.
