A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Zapad group of forces improved the tactical situation and defeated the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian armed forces in the DPR and the Kharkiv region. As a result of the actions of Russian servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost more than 230 militants, three armored combat vehicles, 24 vehicles, three field artillery guns, seven electronic warfare stations, a counterbattery warfare station and five ammunition depots.

In addition, the Southern Group of Troops occupied more advantageous lines and positions, and the units of the Center group of forces improved their position along the front line and hit the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian army in the DPR. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to over 415 military personnel, a tank, three armored combat vehicles, eight vehicles and three artillery pieces.

"The units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses. Formations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces mechanized brigade, marine infantry brigade and air defense brigade were defeated in the areas of Dorozhnyanka, Poltavka, Zelyony Guy, Novoselovka, Olgovskoye, Zaporizhia region and Voronoye, Dnipropetrovsk region. The enemy lost over 220 soldiers and seven vehicles," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated control points and workshops for the production of drones, ammunition depots, and temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed forces in 150 districts. In addition, the HIMARS multiple rocket launcher, the AN/MPQ-65 multifunctional radar station, the control cabin and the Patriot anti-aircraft missile launcher were destroyed. In turn, the air defense systems shot down three HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 260 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 666 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 80,972 UAVs, 627 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,910 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,589 multiple rocket launchers, 29,143 field artillery and mortars, 40,818 pieces of special vehicles.
