Khabarovsk resident to be convicted of storing black caviar and sturgeon
A criminal investigation into the illegal storage of aquatic biological resources has been completed in the Khabarovsk Territory. The charge was brought against a 42-year-old resident of Amursk. During the search, pieces of sturgeon and containers of black caviar were found in his possession.
According to IA AmurMedia, with reference to the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Amur region, the man was detained in June during the operational and preventive event "Putin - 2025". Several frozen fragments of sturgeon and containers with sturgeon caviar were seized from him at his place of residence. The total weight of delicacies exceeded 15 kg.
The defendant himself said that he bought bioresources from a stranger whom he met by chance on the banks of the Amur River. The products were intended for personal use.
The case materials have been sent to the court. In relation to the accused, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of a subscription not to leave and proper behavior. The seized biological resources will be destroyed by a court decision.
In mid-July, it was reported that poachers were detained in the Yelizovsky district of the Kamchatka Territory, who were fishing for salmon species without a license on the Paratunka, Avacha and Pinachevskaya rivers. The total damage caused to fish stocks is estimated at over 1.4 million rubles.
