The Guardian reported on the detention of a WFP employee by the Houthis.
In the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, security forces of the Ansar Allah rebel movement detained an employee of the UN World Food Program (WFP). This was announced on August 31 by WFP Senior press Secretary Abir Etefa, quoted by The Guardian.
According to Etefa, the Houthis raided the agencies' offices in Sanaa. She clarified that one employee was detained in the city, and the rest in other places.
"The WFP confirms that arbitrary detention of humanitarian personnel is unacceptable," she said.
On August 30, Ansar Allah leader Mahdi al-Mashat warned Israel of the threat of retaliation and predicted the coming of "dark times" in connection with the death of the movement's Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahavi.
