6.0 magnitude earthquake recorded in Afghanistan
An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred near the city of Jalalabad in Afghanistan. This was announced on August 31 by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
It is specified that the tremors were recorded at 19:17 UTC (22:17 Moscow time) 50 km northeast of the city of Jalalabad with a population of 200 thousand people. The hearth was located at a depth of 10 km.
On August 27, the Regional Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia reported that a powerful earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred in Dagestan. It was clarified that there were no casualties or damage. To assess the damage, the staff of the services organized a hearing of reports from the duty and dispatch services of municipalities, as well as conducted a telephone survey of socially significant facilities.
