WP reported on the US proposal to resettle Gazans for issuing tokens
The United States is discussing a ten-year long-term reconstruction program for the Gaza Strip, under which it is planned to pay funds to the Palestinians for their temporary relocation necessary for reconstruction work. This was reported by The Washington Post (WP) on August 31.
"The post-war plan for Gaza, <... based on the promise of (US) President Donald Trump to "establish control" over the enclave, turn it into a United States trusteeship zone for at least 10 years, until it turns into a brilliant tourist resort and a high—tech manufacturing and technology center," the article says.
The newspaper clarified that this plan does not involve the States investing their own money. Instead, they aim to attract investments of at least $100 billion, expecting a fourfold return for investors. The plan also provides for the temporary relocation of the entire two million population of Gaza.
Land owners who agree to transfer their property for restoration will be offered digital assets to buy housing in other places or exchange for apartments in new "smart cities with artificial intelligence" on the territory of the enclave. In addition, a one-time payment of $5,000 and subsidies for those who will be forced to leave Gaza are planned.
CNN reported on August 14 that Israel is negotiating the relocation of Gazans to other countries. It is specified that we are talking about countries such as South Sudan, Somaliland, Ethiopia, Libya and Indonesia.
The Axios portal reported on July 18 that the head of the Israeli intelligence service Mossad, David Barnea, visited Washington in order to ask the American side for help in resettling Palestinians from Gaza. It is specified that Barnea had a conversation with the US President's special envoy for the Middle East, Stephen Witkoff.
