Russia comments on photo of Lukashenko and Aliyev

Russian TV presenter Olga Skabeeva commented in one word on the photo of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev, who arrived in the People's Republic of China (PRC) to attend the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

"The situation," she wrote on her Telegram channel, attaching to this message a photograph of the presidents hugging each other and laughing.

The Xinhua news agency reported on August 22 that over 20 foreign leaders and heads of 10 international organizations will attend the summit. Lukashenko, whose participation in the SCO was also announced by the agency, intended to bring potato bags to the summit as souvenirs to foreign leaders.

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived on August 31 to attend the SCO summit. An honor guard met him at the airport.

Later, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that "great attention" was paid to the Russian delegation and Putin personally at all events.
