- The Krasnodar football player announced his desire to leave the RPL after being removed
Colombian forward of the Krasnodar football club John Cordoba announced his possible retirement from the Russian Football Championship after the match with CSKA Moscow. The match ended 1-1, Cordoba scored a goal, but received a red card in the 56th minute.
"This is not the first time this has happened to me. There is a good match going on, and then the referee starts acting against me, against Krasnodar. <...> The referee needs to reconsider the moment. I did not touch Moises, and he himself said that there was no touch," Sport-Express quotes the footballer as saying.
However, he noted that he was proud of the team, because the players brought the match to a draw.
Cordoba noted that after such episodes he has a desire to leave the championship. According to him, a lot has already happened in Russia over the four years of his career, and despite his love for the club, such situations make it difficult to continue performing. The striker has been playing for Krasnodar since 2021 and ranks second in the list of the team's top scorers.
Earlier in the day, the Moscow Football Club (FC) CSKA and FC Krasnodar completed the match of the seventh round of the Russian Premier League (RPL) with a score of 1:1. Two goals were cancelled out in the match. In the 27th minute, Kislyak scored, but the referee canceled the goal after watching the video replay: in the attack, CSKA defender Joao Victor violated the rules against Cordoba. A few minutes later, the referee did not count Cordoba's own goal.
