The air defense forces are repelling a massive attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on the Volgograd region. This was announced on August 31 by the governor of the region Andrey Bocharov.

"The air defense forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation are repelling a massive attack by unmanned aerial vehicles," he was quoted as saying on the Telegram channel of the press service of the Volgograd Region administration.

It is clarified that, according to preliminary information, there are no casualties or damage. The governor also noted that as a result of the attack, there were local fires of dry grass, which were promptly extinguished.

In addition, Bocharov added that one drone fell on the road in the village of Srednyaya Akhtuba. Sappers are working at the scene of the incident.

The acting governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, announced on the same day that air defense systems had eliminated unmanned aerial vehicles over two districts of the region. He clarified that no one was injured in the incident.
