Trump complained about a crack in the White House
On August 30, US President Donald Trump complained about the presence of a 23-meter crack in the masonry of the White House.
"In the White House, I used the most beautiful marble and stone I could find. <...> Three days ago, while admiring the stonework, I accidentally noticed a huge crack in the limestone more than 25 yards long (23 m — Ed.). It was deep and terrible!" he said in a message posted on the Truth Social network.
It is specified that according to the results of the investigation, based on the analysis of data from CCTV cameras, it was established that the subcontractor was the cause of the damage. A faulty transport trolley used to move massive landscaping elements damaged the stone surface.
Trump assured that the damaged site would be fully restored at the expense of the company that committed the violation, and the contractor himself would no longer be allowed to work in the White House.
The Hill newspaper reported on August 2 that Trump's plan to create a ballroom in the White House with an area of 8.3 thousand square meters and a cost of approximately $ 200 million was criticized in the United States. The publication cites statements by the American leader, according to which "not a single government dollar will be spent on this project, which his predecessors have been trying to implement over the past 150 years."
