The commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have taken the initiative to ban lenient punishments for their subordinates at the legislative level, allowing the use of more severe methods, which caused an angry reaction in society. RIA Novosti writes about this on August 30, citing sources in Russian law enforcement agencies.

"An initiative group of 20 Ukrainian unit commanders appealed to the Verkhovna Rada with a proposal to prohibit the imposition of more lenient punishments to military personnel for non—compliance with orders, such as, for example, a suspended sentence or correctional labor," the source said.

Relatives of the Ukrainian conscripts said that such a proposal appeared due to the fact that the commanders do not want to bear any responsibility for their criminal orders and senseless deaths.

"Ukrainian officers are almost never present in frontline positions with subordinate personnel, but spend all their time at headquarters," the representative of the security forces added.

Prior to that, on August 28, the security forces reported that the command of the 57th separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had been holding the mobilized in the pits for weeks. An inspection is being carried out against the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to the increased cases of bullying of fighters.
