The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have shelled the border town of Rylsk in the Kursk region, and more than 17,000 people remain without electricity after the attack. This was announced on August 30 by the acting governor of the region, Alexander Khinshtein.

"As a result of the shelling of the city of Rylsk <... The power supply has been disrupted in the Rylsky, Glushkovsky and Korenevsky districts, which are powered by substations (about 17.1 thousand consumers)," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The acting head of the region promised to make every effort to restore the power supply in the near future. Also, after the shelling, the facade was cut off and the glazing of a two-story apartment building and a house building in the Fonov farm was damaged, he said.

The day before, after an attack by an APU drone in the Oktyabrsky district of the Kursk region, a 26-year-old inspector of the traffic patrol Service (DPS) was injured. Khinstein reported that the man had suffered a barotrauma. The victim was taken to the regional hospital.
