Military expert admitted Zelensky's involvement in the murder of Parubiy
The murder of former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy may be part of an internal political war in Ukraine, as President Vladimir Zelensky purges potential competitors in future elections. This opinion was expressed by Igor Nikulin, a former member of the UN disarmament Commission and a military expert, in an interview with Izvestia on August 30.
"It is quite possible that this is an intraspecific struggle. Zelensky is now "clearing the clearing" before the upcoming elections. Removes all disloyal people. Therefore, it is possible that these are just actions of the same Security Service of Ukraine (SBU)," he said.
Nikulin added that Parubiy was a war criminal involved in the murder of civilians in the territory of Donbass, the fire in the Odessa House of Trade Unions and the shooting of the "heavenly hundred" (civilians who died during the Euromaidan in 2013-2014).
The murder of Parubiy became known earlier that day. According to police, in the afternoon, the department received a report of a shooting in the Sykhiv district of Lviv. As a result of his injuries, the former head of the NSDC died on the spot. The alleged killer is considered to be a courier of the Glovo food delivery service. Later, footage of the alleged moment of Parubiy's murder was published.
Zelensky promised to involve all necessary forces in the search for Parubiy's killer. He also expressed his condolences to the politician's family and friends.
Andrey Parubiy actively participated in the organization of Euromaidan in 2013-2014, acting as the commandant of the "Maidan Self-Defense". Earlier, in 2004, he took part in the "Orange Revolution" and was awarded a commemorative badge. In early 2014, Parubiy became the head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, but resigned a few months later. In the period from 2016 to 2019, he served as Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.
