D-30 howitzer crews eliminated the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Chasova Yar in the DPR

Calculations of 122-millimeter D-30 howitzers of the Ivanovo Airborne Forces unit of the Southern Group of Forces eliminated the accumulation of manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the vicinity of Chasova Yar in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on August 30.

The ministry clarified that the AFU stronghold discovered by the operators of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) was equipped near the village of Nikolaevka near Chasova Yar in order to prevent the advance of the assault groups of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The coordinates of the target were transferred to the calculation of the D-30 cannon, which delivered precise strikes on the target.

"Our task is to crush the enemy, not to let him cooperate, and that is, we are working very intensively. I've been with the guys for <...> the third year now, and it's not just a team anymore. These are brothers, this is a family," said the commander of the gun with the call sign Bolshoy.

Another serviceman with the call sign Rovny noted that he had to work quite often, mainly at night, when the Ukrainian military were becoming more active in their attempts to advance.

The Russian Defense Ministry noted that thanks to the well-coordinated combat work of the crews, the professionalism and dedication of the paratrooper gunners, the task was completed: the enemy personnel, as well as the field ammunition storage facility disguised in the forest, were destroyed.

Unmanned platforms with electronic warfare systems are on duty in firing positions, suppressing enemy UAVs and saving the lives of gun crews.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported a day earlier that the crew of the Su-34 multifunctional supersonic fighter-bomber of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) had destroyed the AFU UAV control center in the area of responsibility of the Yuzhnaya group of forces. The strike was carried out by aerial bombs with a universal planning and correction module (UMPC). After completing the operation, the crew successfully returned to the departure airfield.
